How We Evaluate Providers

Where listing data comes from

Most clinic listings are built from publicly available Google Maps business data — name, address, category, star rating, and review count as published by Google. A clinic can also submit its own listing directly through List Your Clinic; our team reviews every self-submitted listing before it goes live.

What "Verified" means

A Verified badge means the clinic submitted its own listing and our team reviewed it before publishing. Listings built only from public Google Maps data don't carry this badge — we don't independently check medical licensing or credentials ourselves. If you're a provider and want your listing verified, claim it through List Your Clinic.

How ranking and sort order work

Within a city or treatment page, clinics generally sort by three factors, in order:

1. Paid Featured placement, if any (always disclosed — see below)
2. Keyword score — how many of the local search terms we track a clinic appears prominently for on Google Maps
3. Google rating and review count

We don't accept payment in exchange for a better position in this organic ranking — paid placement is a separate, clearly labeled slot.

How Featured and Sponsored placement work

Clinics can pay for Featured placement (priority position on a city page) or a Sponsored slot on a specific treatment page. Every paid placement is visually labeled — a gold Featured styling or an "AD" tag — so it's never presented as an organic result. Paid placement never changes a clinic's actual rating or review count.

Data freshness

Provider data is refreshed periodically, not in real time. A clinic's hours, pricing, or availability can change between our updates. Treatment price ranges (see our Price Index) reflect typical Bay Area market data at the time of publishing. Always confirm current details directly with a provider before booking.

Reporting an error

See something wrong on a listing —yours or another clinic's? Contact us and we'll fix it. Clinic owners can also claim and update their own listing through List Your Clinic.
